Badge Setup
Badge setup covers creating, designing, and configuring name badge templates for on-site check-in printing. EventX supports three printer types — Brother, Zebra, and Epson — each with different capabilities, badge sizes, and colour support.
Getting Started
Start here to create Badge Designs and control which design each attendee receives:
Manage Badge Designs and Badge Rules — Create multiple Badge Designs and assign them to attendees by Ticket Type and priority.
Badge Editor Reference — Complete reference for the badge editor, including Design Mode vs Code Mode, adding elements, adding brand labels, and creating Epson colour templates.
Which Fields Are Supported on Name Badges? — All supported and unsupported fields for badge printing and Check-in App custom lines.
Advanced
How to Add a Brand Element in Code Mode — Add conditional category labels (e.g., VIP, Speaker, Delegate) to badges using JSON.
How to Add Epson Colours in Code Mode — Add full-colour text and shapes to Epson badge templates.
Custom QR Code on Badges — Use custom QR codes instead of the default check-in QR code on name badges.
Common Questions
How do I choose between Design Mode and Code Mode? — See Badge Editor. Use Design Mode for drag-and-drop editing. Use Code Mode for Epson colours, brand elements, and advanced JSON changes.
How does EventX select an attendee's Badge Design? — Badge Rules run in priority order. The first matching Ticket Type rule wins, and the Fallback rule covers everyone else.
Which printer supports colour printing? — Only Epson badges support full-colour printing. Brother and Zebra print black only.
Can I add a custom QR code to the badge? — Yes. See Custom QR Code on Badges.
How do I add a field from the attendee list to the badge? — Use the Attendee Info element in the badge editor. See Which Fields Are Supported?.
What's the maximum image size for badge uploads? — 2 MB per uploaded image.
