# How to Configure Profile Fields for the Check-in App

## Objective

Configure which attendee profile fields are shown, required, and editable in the EventX Check-in App.

## Prerequisites

* Organizer access to the event in the EventX portal.
* **In-person Check-in** enabled for the event.
* EventX Check-in App version **6.2.0** or later.

## Steps

1. Open the event in the EventX portal.
2. Go to **In-person Check-in**.
3. Select the **Profile Fields** tab.

4. Review the available fields for the check-in app profile form.
5. Drag and drop a field to change its display order in the app.
6. Turn on **Include** to show the field in the check-in app profile form.
7. Turn on **Required** to make the field mandatory before saving profile updates in the app.
8. Select **Save** to apply the changes.
9. Open an attendee profile in the EventX Check-in App to confirm the included fields, order, and labels.

## Notes

* Custom profile fields for the Check-in App are supported starting from EventX Check-in App version **6.2.0**.
* Supported fields include basic attendee fields, short text, long text, single choice, multiple choice, dropdown, consent checkbox, date picker, time picker, and phone field. File upload, multiple text, ticket, add-on, and tag fields are not supported. First Name and Last Name are available only when the event uses separate first and last name fields.

### Q: Can I make a custom field required in the Check-in App?

**A:** Yes. Toggle the "Required" switch per field in the portal configuration. Required fields must be filled before checking in an attendee.

### Q: Which field types are NOT supported in the Check-in App profile?

**A:** File upload, multiple text, ticket, add-on, and tag fields are not supported. Date/time picker fields are supported.
