# Delete Event

Organizers can delete an event from the organizer portal when the event should no longer be accessible and its event-scoped data should be cleaned up.

Use this action only when you are sure the event is no longer needed. Event deletion is irreversible.

## Before You Delete an Event

1. The event becomes inaccessible in the portal immediately after deletion.
2. Attendee data erasure and outreach, WhatsApp, and order registration snapshot cleanup continue in the background after the event disappears.
3. Some attendee-specific links may remain accessible briefly until the background cleanup finishes.
4. If the event still has manual Email or WhatsApp campaigns in **Scheduled**, **Processing**, or **Sending** status, deletion will be blocked. Cancel the campaign or wait until it finishes before trying again.
5. Order and finance history is retained where required, but the order registration form data snapshot is erased.

## How to Delete an Event

1. Go to **Organizer Portal** > **Events** and open the event that you want to delete.
2. Go to **Event Settings**.
3. Select **Delete Event** from the Event Settings menu.
4. Review the warning messages in the **Danger Zone** section.
5. Type the exact phrase **I understand** in the confirmation field.
6. Click **Delete Event**.

7. After the event is deleted, you will be redirected to the Events page. The event will no longer be accessible from the portal.

## If Deletion Is Blocked

If the system does not allow the event to be deleted, check whether the event has manual Email or WhatsApp campaigns that are still **Scheduled**, **Processing**, or **Sending**.

Go to the event's outreach pages, cancel the active campaign or wait until it is completed, and then try deleting the event again.

## What Happens After Deletion

After deletion:

1. The event can no longer be opened from the organizer portal.
2. Attendee personal information is erased or redacted.
3. Outreach Email history and event-scoped outreach records are cleaned up.
4. Event-scoped WhatsApp messages and contacts are cleaned up.
5. Order records are kept for operational and finance history, but the registration form data snapshot is erased.
6. Finance-related records that must be retained are not removed.
